Amazed.
That’s how I felt while celebrating Christmas in New York with the love of my life. It was our First Christmas, and it was wonderful.
On our first Christmas Eve together, we celebrated with his parents at home. We feasted on tacos, noodles and a staple during the 9-morning Novena masses before Christmas in the Philippines: bibingka. We didn’t wait until the clock struck midnight to open gifts. We did that on the 25th, while having breakfast.
It was a quiet celebration. Quiet compared to the way I used to celebrate Christmas in Manila. Even if there were only four of us, we had fun. Stories and laughter filled the celebration. And, of course, LOVE.
